New Hajj calender 2024: MINAT and Saudi Ambassador Hold Discussion

The Minister of Territorial Administration, Atanga Nji Paul, met with the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Cameroon, H.E. Dr. Faisal Saud Almejfel, on Thursday, September 14, 2023. The discussions revolved around the ongoing collaboration between the two nations. The highlight of the meeting was the official presentation by the Saudi diplomat of the detailed timeline for the Hajj 2024. The plan includes completion of accommodation and Mashaer contracts by February 2024. Visa issuance begins by March 1st 2024 and the platform closure of visa issuance is on April 29, 2024. The anticipated arrival of pilgrims starts from May 9, 2024. This opens the door for Cameroon to benefit from the presence of ten thousand (10,000) pilgrims in the holy land on an annual basis, commencing from 2024. During Hajj 2023, five thousand (5,000) Cameroonian Muslim faithful journeyed to Saudi Arabia to perform their religious duties. This reflects the growing partnership between the two nations, which will foster further collaboration and exchanges in the future.
